Dirty Cello is an American band that tours all over the world and from China to Italy. The current lineup consists of Rebecca Roudman (cello and vocals), Colin Williams (bass), Jason Eckl (guitar), and Jeff Wheeler. The band brings the world a unique and high-energy spin on bluegrass and blues. The group provides an experience that you may have never witnessed before. From virtuosic stomping bluegrass to down-home blues with a wailing cello, it is a band that gets the audience’s heart thumping and toes tapping.
According to Lou Fancher of Oakland Magazine, the Dirty Cello music is all over the map from funky, textured, classical but occasionally fiercely rhythmic, electric, tangles, carnival, and romantic. Good Times Santa Cruz states that Dirty Cello plays every imaginable style, and it does some fantastic covers. He further stated that the rendition of the group’s “Purple Haze” is simply incredible. Their music goes beyond what most people would expect.
