Marie Dionne Warwick (December 12, 1940) is a multi-talented American artist with a background in singing, acting, and hosting television shows. In terms of her run on Billboard's Hot 100 pop singles chart from 1955 to 1999, Warwick is among the top 40 biggest hit creators in the United States. She ranks second among female rock vocalists from the '50s through the '90s.
Between 1962 and 1998, she had 56 singles that reached the Hot 100, 12 of which were Top Ten. In all, 80 of her songs, whether performed solo or as a collaboration, made it to the Hot 100, R&B, or adult contemporary charts, solidifying her position as one of the most-charted vocalists ever. The "Greatest Artists of All Time" list from Billboard Hot 100 places Warwick at no 74.
Warwick has sold more than 100 million recordings worldwide and garnered several accolades, including six Grammys, over her career. Among her many Hall of Fame inductions are those from the Apollo Theatre, the National Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame, the Grammy Hall of Fame, and the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Her 2019 Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award was a major accomplishment. Her album "Walk On By" joined the ranks of "Alfie" and "Don't Make Me Over" as Grammy Hall of Fame inductees. For the United Nations' Food and Agriculture Organisation, she served as a Goodwill Ambassador before.
