Dev Information
Devin Star Tailes, better known as Dev, is a singer, songwriter, model, rapper, and radio host from Tracy, California, although she grew up in Manteca. She was part of the U.S Olympic development program at the age of four for swimming. Later, Dev attended Brock Elliott Elementary and graduated from Sierra High School in 2007. She was a member of band and choir in her high school. Dev then attended San Joaquin Delta College, where she studied English and art history but soon dropped out to pursue her singing career.
Dev began her career in 2009 when she made a cover of Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black." She was signed by the Los Angeles-based record label and management team, Indie-Pop. The label also discovered The Cataracs, and directly after six months, Dev and The Cataracs' song "2Nite" began to gain exposure on television and radio. Some of her other initial releases include the single "In the Dark," and albums The Night the Sun Came Up, and I Only See You When I'm Dreamin'. She also released a mixtape entitled Is Hot: The Mixtape (2011).
Three of the extended plays released by Dev are Not All Love Songs Have To Be So Sad, Bittersweet July, and Bittersweet July, Pt. 2. Her notable include singles, "Honey Dip," "All I Wanna Do," "Come At Me," "Follow My Lead," and many more. Dev has also gone on a few notable tours such as The Night the Sun Came Up Tour (2012), Bittersweet July Tour (2014–15), Bay Nights Tour (with Lil Debbie) (2019), and a few more.
