Dennis Jones Information
Dennis Jones (1958) is an American blues rock singer, songwriter, and guitarist. He was born in Monkton, Maryland. Jones, at the age of 13 (inspired by his parent's record collection, which featured artists like B.B. King and Bobby Bland), first requested a set of drums for Christmas but ultimately received a guitar. Jones began his passion for songwriting while still a teenager when he participated in various local bands.
Jones also contributed guitar work to Zac Harmon's 2002 live CD, Live at Babe and Ricky's Inn, under the moniker Zac Harmon & the Mid-South Revue. The band took first place at the 20th Annual International Blues Challenge in 2004. However, Jones and Harmon's schedules began to clash due to the availability of each band, and Harmon eventually looked to replace Jones.
After that, Jones gave shows on the Pacific Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruises. His first full-length solo effort was 2003's Falling Up, released on his own record company, Blue Rock Records. Falling Up's "Deep Blues" was included on the movie Sea of Fear's soundtrack in 2006. His second album, Passion For The Blues, came out in 2006. Jones began working on the songs for his seventh album, Soft Hard and Loud, after returning from yet another tour of Europe. Jones Trio's namesake alludes to their wide dynamic range.
