Deborah Anne Boone (September 22, 1956) is an American author, actress, and singer from Hackensack, New Jersey. She is also known as Debby Boone Ferrer, the daughter of singer-actor Pat Boone. Anne Boone began touring along with her parents and sisters when she was only 14. The family was joined was called The Pat Boone Family, and later on, they changed the name to the Boones or Boone Girls. Primarily, the sisters recorded gospel music. The Boones reached Billboard’s AC charts twice with their 1975’s “When The Lovelight Starts Shining Through His Eyes” (number 25) and 1977’s “Hasta Mañana” (number 32).
Deborah Anne Boone launched her solo career after her elder sister got married, and her younger sister went to college. Her first solo endeavor was “You Light Up My Life,” which came out in 1977 and became the biggest hit of the 1970s. She also won a Grammy for the track in 1977. Boone released many hit albums after her overnight success such as Midstream (1978), Debby Boone (1979), Love Has No Reason (1980), With My Song (1980), Savin’ It Up (1981), Choose Life (1985), and Be Thou My Vision (1989).
As an author, Boone published the following books; 1981: Debby Boone So Far (autobiography), 1988: Bedtime Hugs for Little Ones, 1989: Tomorrow Is a Brand New Day, 1991: The Snow Angel, 1996: Welcome to This World, and 1998: Counting Blessings. All of her children’s books have been illustrated by Ferrer. As a screen actress, she starred in the television movie Sins of the Past, O. Henry’s The Gift of the Magi, The Same Old Brand New Me (1980), and One Step Closer (1982).
