Dean Brody Information
Dean Brody (August 12, 1975) is a Canadian country music artist born in Smithers, British Columbia, and grew up in Jaffray, British Columbia. Brody used to work at a sawmill when he was a young boy and played guitar in his spare time. In 2004, Brody moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to further pursue his musical career. After a long time in Nashville, he had found a songwriting contract, but unfortunately, his US work permit had expired, and he had to move back to Canada.
In 2008, Brody once again moved to Nashville, Tennessee, on the suggestion of his producer, Keith Stegall. He also helped him sign a record deal with Broken Bow Records. Brody released his first single on the label entitled “Brothers.” From 2010 to 2017, he lived in Windsor and Chester, Nova Scotia. He also launched his beer, “Hucklejack Canadian Lager,” in 2020.
On April 28, 2009, Brody released his self-titled debut album in the US, released on Broken Bow Records. Debuting at number 32 on the US Billboard Top Country Albums chart, the album was released in Canada as well. In 2010, Brody released his second album on Open Road Recordings entitled “Trail in Life.” The first single of the album entitled “Wildflower” was released in April 2010.
Other albums released by Dean Brody include Dirt (2012), Crop Circles (2013), Gypsy Road (2015), Beautiful Freakshow (2016), Black Sheep (2019), and Boys (2020). He has won several awards, including the Juno Award 2014 for Country Album of the Year.
