Deadmau5 Information
Joel Thomas Zimmerman (January 5, 1981), professionally known as Deadmau5, is a Canadian DJ and producer of electronic music. Under his Testpilot identity, he creates and DJs various electronic music, including techno. His primary focus is on progressive house and electro house. Zimmerman has been nominated for Grammy Awards six times.
In 2000, Zimmerman and Derek Caesar released a 12" record on vinyl titled "I Don't Want No Other" as Dred and Karma. Deadmau5 Circa 1998-2002 was a self-released compilation CD by the artist in 2006. Get Scraped was his first studio album, and Vexillology came out the following year.
Polar debuted on Netflix on January 25, 2019, and Zimmerman released the album featuring music from the film through Mau5trap with the title Polar (Music from the Netflix Film). Mau5ville: Level 3, the third edition in the Mau5ville series, was launched on Mau5trap on February 1, 2019.
Zimmerman's new "Hau5trap" label debuted on March 29, 2021, with the release of the track "Nextra". The single "Hypnocurrency" by REZZ & Deadmau5 was released on Mau5trap in 2021. On July 16, he also dropped a new track titled "When the Summer Dies," featuring the vocals of Lights.
Kx5 (pronounced "kay-five") is the fourth collaborative project between Zimmerman and Kaskade, announced in 2022. On March 11, their debut song, "Escape," was made available to the public. In December, the two performed as the night's main attraction at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
