David Baldacci Information
David Baldacci (August 5, 1960) is an American novelist. Baldacci grew up in Richmond, Virginia, born and raised. He graduated from Henrico High School and went to Virginia Commonwealth University to get a B.A. in political science and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Virginia School of Law. He practiced law in Washington, D.C., for nine years. He is of Italian ancestry, hailing from the Tuscan town of Barga.
Baldacci began writing stories when his mother gave him a notebook to keep track of them when he was a child. He authored short tales and eventually screenplays for more than two decades, with little success. While still practicing law, he began writing novels, and Absolute Power took three years to complete. It was a worldwide bestseller when it was published in 1996. Baldacci has written 40 best-selling adult novels and seven stories for younger readers.
Baldacci worked as a consultant producer on the TNT television series King & Maxwell, based on his characters, Sean King and Michelle Maxwell. The film stars Jon Tenney and Rebecca Romijn. Baldacci's ninth novel, The Christmas Train, was turned into a Hallmark Hall of Fame feature presentation in 2017.
