Daryl Franklin Hohl (October 11, 1946) is an American soul, rock, and R&B singer and musician. He is professionally known by his stage name, Daryl Hall. He was born in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. Even before he graduated from Owen J. Roberts High School in 1964, he had begun his recording career. He attended Temple University in Philadelphia and studied music while performing and recording with artists like Kenny Gamble and session musicians like Leon Huff.
Live from Daryl's House was Hall's New Year's Eve 2010 hosting gig on WGN America. Clips from earlier episodes were used in the special. While Chicago radio presenter Steve Dahl hailed the show as the best New Year's Eve program of 2010-2011, he panned it for not including a live countdown to midnight.
Live from Daryl's House was acquired by BMG in a partnership with Hall and Jonathan Wolfson, and the firm stated in the fall of 2018 that it would begin producing new episodes that winter. The deal covers 82 episodes shot between 2007 and 2016, and the company is currently looking for distribution partners worldwide.
