Dan Croll Information
Dan Croll (July 18, 1990) is a British singer and songwriter. He was born in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire. When Croll was 18, he uprooted to Liverpool to enroll at the Liverpool Institute for the Performing Arts (LIPA). He was one of eight students chosen to have a one-on-one with LIPA founder Sir Paul McCartney, and he received a national songwriter of the Year award from the Musicians Benevolent Fund while he was a student there.
On April 23, 2012, Croll was included in the compilation New Faces by the Communion record label. Communion heavily promoted Croll's early live shows, and now they're helping him out with a release. During the first months of 2012, Croll became a Turn First Records roster member. On September 24, 2012, his first song, titled "From Nowhere," was published digitally and on limited 7" vinyl by Turn First / Racquet Records (Croll's imprint).
Throughout its three days at the top of the Hype Machine popular charts, "From Nowhere" also garnered airplay on BBC Radio 1 and playlists on BBC 6 Music and XFM in the UK. Croll released his new single "Home" on his personal VEVO channel on YouTube on October 13, 2013. During a radio interview on Virgin Radio on October 29, 2013, Croll announced that he had completed recording his first studio album. The album was scheduled for an early 2014 release.
