Dallas 2x2 for AIDS and Art is an annual contemporary art auction hosted at The Rachofsky House in Dallas that benefits two organizations: the Dallas Museum of Art and amfAR. 2x2 in 2023 brought $7.6 million, raising the total to $120 million. The 2024 October gala was the last 2x2 event following 25 remarkable years.
2x2 is a great event as it offers a chance to help two extremely deserving charities. Over the past 25 years, amfAR, the Foundation for AIDS Research, has achieved tremendous progress in fundamental AIDS research projects; 2x2 has become amfAR's biggest fundraiser in the U.S. With 2x2 donations to its Contemporary Art Acquisition fund and shows, the Dallas Museum of Art now boasts over 350 significant pieces of modern art in its permanent collection.
Drawing eminent artists, art collectors, and benefactors from all across the globe, 2x2 for AIDS and Art has expanded into a week full of social activities targeted at acknowledging the progress of amfAR and involving the arts community in Dallas. A much-awaited event that fast runs out, the fundraiser consists of a seated dinner for 450 people with a live and silent auction of significant pieces of modern art and one-of-a-kind luxury goods.
