Dakota Valley Symphony Information
The Dakota Valley Civic Orchestral Association is a volunteer nonprofit community arts organization that is based in Dakota County, founded the Dakota Valley Symphony in 1986. The company was founded to give musicians a platform to play and provide high-quality musical experiences to residents in Apple Valley, Burnsville, Eagan, Hastings, Lakeville, Prior Lake, and Shakopee in the south suburban Twin Cities area.
The symphony and chorus, led by founder Stephen J. Ramsey, comprises over a hundred musicians who play concerts at Ames Center in Burnsville and outdoor venues during the summer. Classical orchestral music, concerti, oratorio, Hollywood and Broadway themes, and premiere compositions are part of a regular season’s program.
The orchestra members for Dakota Valley Symphony include Erika Hoogeveen (concertmaster). The soprano’s lineup includes Jan Abraham, Marlene Armitage, Daneen Braaten, Kate Cotner, Lisa Crepeau, Leslie Crichton, Merry Daher, Pat Fidler, Janet Fraser, Kathy Grindeland, Judith Gustafson, Margaret Hazard, Ann Holt, Sasha Hulsey, Lenore Irving, Taybri Irving, Jaime Koblas, Sharon LeBlond, and Barb Manthey.
