Crunchyroll Expo Information
Crunchyroll Expo (CRX) is a three-day anime conference held in August/September at the San Jose McEnery Conference Center in San Jose, California, over Labor Day weekend. Crunchyroll, the anime licensor, and LeftField Media are responsible for organizing the event. In 2017, the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, California, hosted the first Crunchyroll Expo. LeftField Media assisted with organizing the event.
San Jose, California's McEnery Convention Center was the new home of Crunchyroll Expo 2018. They happened to be on the same weekend as SacAnime. Beginning in 2020, Crunchyroll collaborated with ReedPop to host the Crunchyroll Expo. The actual event, Virtual Crunchyroll Expo, took place from September 4th to the 6th, 2020, in an online format.
Combining in-person and virtual components, Crunchyroll Expo 2022 was a unique conference. The Crunchy City Music Fest was a brand-new musical event that debuted at the conference. Tickets for Crunchyroll Expo were sold out in advance due to the event's capacity limit. Additionally, eftField Media was brought back to manage the event. Due to Crunchyroll's focus on other global events in 2023, Crunchyroll Expo did not occur that year.
