Coone Information
Koen Bauweraerts (May 30, 1983) is a Belgian hardstyle DJ and producer. He is professionally known by his stage name, Coone. Coone began his music career at the tender age of 15 in 1998. Protect the Innocent, his debut EP was published in 2002. His first big hit, "Eating Donuts," a cover of Blur's "Song 2," was released under the alias "The Artist Also Known As." He launched his first record label, Dirty Workz, in 2006, releasing both Jump and Hardstyle music, but has since taken a more hands-off approach to running the label, which is now focused mainly on the latter genre.
Furthermore, in 2011, he debuted at number 41 on DJ MAG's list of the world's top 100 DJs. Over the past few years, Coone has collaborated with many A-list musicians. In 2014, he co-signed with Dim Mak Records (Steve Aoki's company) for a collection of future singles alongside Dirty Workz. Festival favorite "Madness," which Coone co-produced with fellow Belgians Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and featured singing from Lil Jon, was released on Dim Mak Records in 2013.
Coone's "Global Dedication" program has been going strong since he launched it in 2015. Coone, who came in at #49 on DJ Mag's list of the year's best DJs, was the highest-placed Hardstyle DJ. Coone's EP Less Is More came out that same year (2016). He performed on Tomorrowland's mainstage in 2018 for the first time as a hardstyle act.
