Conor Maynard Information
Conor Maynard (November 21, 1992) is an English singer. He was born in Brighton, England. In Hove, he went to Cardinal Newman High School. He joined YouTube on May 19, 2006, and his debut video, singing "Breathe" by British musician Lee Carr, was posted there in December 2008. Maynard debuted as the youthful and obnoxious Casper Rose on Sky 1's Dream Team in 2006.
Maynard and his close friend, the Virginia-based rapper Anthony "Anth" Melo, have been sharing cover versions of songs online since 2009. They've collaborated on several cover versions, including ones of songs by Taio Cruz ("Dynamite") and Rihanna
("Only Girl (In the World)"). After American singer/songwriter Ne-Yo viewed a cover of Maynard's song "Beautiful Monster," the label noticed him; Ne-Yo subsequently contacted Maynard and became the musician's mentor. He's now under the management of Turn First and EMI/Parlophone.
The band Turn First is credited with helping shape the musician. Sarah Stennett, CEO of the company, told HitQuarters that instead of telling him what songs to sing, they helped him make them by learning about his musical tastes and interests and pairing him with producers like The Invisible Men and songwriters like Sophie Stern.
