Clairo Information
Claire Elizabeth Cottrill (August 18, 1998), often known as Clairo, is an American singer and songwriter. She started uploading songs to the internet when she was thirteen years old and was born in Atlanta, Georgia. The singer quickly gained fame after the music video for her 2017 lo-fi hit "Pretty Girl" went viral. She went on to sign with Fader Label and release her first EP, Diary 001 (2018).
Two songs were released from her 2019 debut album Immunity—"Bags" and "Sofia"—the latter of which became her first hit to reach the Billboard Hot 100 and garnered critical praise. It wasn't until 2021 that Cottrill dropped Sling, his sophomore studio album. Commercially successful and critically acclaimed, the album debuted in the top 20 of the US Billboard 200 upon its release.
A post by Clairo on Instagram in January 2024 with the remark "maybe this year" hinted at a potential new album. She posted a photo on Instagram in March with the emojis "3," "check mark," and "purple heart" in the text. Charm, Clairo's next album produced by Leon Michels, was revealed on May 23. She announced two September residencies in New York and Los Angeles to support the album on May 29.
