Chromeo Information
Chromeo, a Canadian electro-funk duo from Montreal, was founded 2002 by musicians David "Dave 1" Macklovitch and Patrick "P-Thugg" Gemayel. Soul, dance, rock, synth-pop, disco, and funk influence their sound. Midway through the 1990s, the two crossed paths at Montreal's Collège Stanislas. Un Joli Mix Pour Toi was Chromeo's 2005 Eskimo Belgium records mix CD, including funk dance tunes.
The band had a guest appearance on "I Am Somebody" by DJ Mehdi in 2006. Chromeo was the opening act for the 2007 British tour of indie rock band Bloc Party. The song "Don't Sleep (Live in Washington D.C.)" and the live album Date Night: Chromeo Live! were confirmed for June 25, 2021, on June 12, respectively. Chromeo recorded the tracks during their first-ever live performance with a full band on a 2019 North American concert tour.
Over five and a half million people have watched the music video for the album's track "Night by Night" as of the year 2023. The band has sold out London's The Forum and appeared on Morning Becomes Eclectic on KCRW. They have also graced the cover of Future Magazine. April 20, 2023, was the date of Chromeo's performance at the 22nd Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
