Neither a singer nor an actor, Chris Lee does neither. Always and everywhere, he is both a complete artist and an expressive creator. Chris grew up in a musical family and can recall singing before he could even talk. Chris, whose mother was a worship leader, got his musical footing in the church choir and went on to teach himself drums, piano, and guitar in the haven of his musically encouraging family home.
After graduating high school, he planned to attend Belmont University in Nashville to study musical theater. Still, he ultimately decided to cut his studies short of joining the cast of the smash hit musical Hamilton in Chicago, where he plays the roles of Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson in the neo-historical musical. This break led to guest spots on Empire and The Chi and a recurring role on Legacies on The CW. He has been able to act, produce, and sing music for Legacies and Empire.
Lee's sound is at the essential heart of contemporary Hip-Hop and R&B, with a nostalgic melodic style, crisp production that incorporates sonic homages to the '90s, and a beat that manages to kick up its heels while keeping you on your toes.
