Chris Colston is an American singer and songwriter who was born in Texas. His stepfather signed him up for drum lessons at seven. Colston immediately knew that his future would be related to music. He picked up the guitar shortly after, and in his late teens, Colston already founded his first band. The group hit the road and played wherever they got the chance.
According to Colston, his music is always influenced by several legends he grew up hearing. Lynyrd Skynyrd, country legends Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson, and The Allman Brothers top the list. His sound has also grown with massive inspirations from Blackberry Smoke and Whiskey Myers. Listening to these records helped Colston curate his style, which is defined as gritty Texas roots mixed with a bit of blues and rock n’ roll.
Colston has powerful vocals that are honest and undeniable. He released an EP entitled “Gone” in 2018. The EP’s title track surpassed a half-million streams on Spotify within a few months of its release. Colston’s new album came out on June 26, 2020, named Bomb Away. Some of the hit songs included in the album are “First Dirt Road,” “Bombs Away,” and “First Tattoo.” His band consists of Chris Colston (Lead Vocals, Guitar), Brendan Gilman (Lead Guitar), Blake Grinstead (Bass), Nate Bellatti (Guitar, Keyboard), and Tyler Thompson (drums).
