Chloe Agnew Information
Chloe Agnew (1989) is an Irish singer and songwriter. She was born in Knocklyon, County Dublin. As early as four weeks of age, she had her television debut on her mother's show, and by the time she was six, she was a regular performer on the show, complete with a singing segment. She started her studies at Notre Dame des Missions Junior School and continued at the all-girls Alexandra College. When Agnew sang a song titled "The Friendship Tree" at the First International Children's Song Competition in Cairo, Egypt, in 1998, he took home the Grand Prix on behalf of Ireland. After that, she started doing pantomime in Dublin's Olympia Theatre and stayed there for four years.
Agnew approached director David Downes in the year 2000, when he was just 11 years old, with the idea of recording a song to benefit the children of Afghanistan. The album This Holy Christmas Night, on which she sang "Angel of Mercy," helped earn nearly £20,000 for the Afghan Children's Charity Fund that year. She began singing with the Christ Church Cathedral Girls' Choir that same year and stayed with them for three more.
With Downes' support, she recorded her first album, Chlo, in 2002 after being signed to Celtic Collections. Her second studio album, 2004's Chlo: Walking in the Air, included a similar theme. Her second studio album, released in Europe in 2004 and the United States in 2007, came with a DVD she recorded herself.
