Chastity Brown (June 1, 1982) is an American musician, singer, and songwriter. Before relocating to Minneapolis in 2006, she debuted in Knoxville, Tennessee. Do the Best You Can, Brown's first album was independently released in 2007, and Sankofa, her second album, was released in 2009. Both received positive reviews from the media. She collaborated with Michael X., Adam Wozniak, and Nikki Schultz (backing vocals) on her 2010 album High Noon Teeth.
Brown's "By the Train Tracks" received an 89.3 Songs featured on The Current's "Song of the Day" on June 6, 2010. Chastity Brown was spotted at the Bitter End in October 2011 by Fred Cannon, SVP of BMI. He connected her with Rose Drake, who eventually signed her to the record label Creative and Dreams. Paul Buono was called in by Cannon so that together they could produce "a classic record that will be memorable and will put Chasity Brown on the map."
Nashville, Tennessee's Creative and Dreams Music Network released her 2012 album Back-Road Highways. Robert Mulrennan, Chastity's longtime guitarist, is joined by Blair Masters (B-3 organ), Anton Nesbitt (bass), and Bernard Bell (drums).
