Charlotte Cornfield Information
Charlotte Cornfield (1988) is a Canadian singer and songwriter born in Toronto, Ontario. She performed in various bands as a teenager. As a child, she penned songs and played piano, drums, and French horn. After relocating to Montreal, Quebec, where she attended Concordia University to study jazz drumming, she pursued music solo in 2006. After spending almost six years in Montreal, Cornfield spent the next two years in Brooklyn, New York City.
She started doing live music performances while residing in Montreal. As of 2010, Cornfield also plays drums for Takk, a jazz quartet, and the band Bent by Elephants. Bramwell Park, Craig Schram, and Stephen Tchir of The Provincial Archive make up her touring band as of 2017. Cornfield's headquarters are in Toronto as of 2021. Two Horses, the debut album of Cornfield, was made available in October 2011. Cornfield performs vocals, guitar, bass guitar, percussion, and piano on the four-month-long recording project.
Future Snowbird, the second album by Cornfield, was made available through Consonant Records in March 2016. Tim Darcy of Ought and Johnny Spence of Tegan and Sara made appearances on the album, produced by Don Kerr and live recorded at Rooster Studios in Toronto, Ontario. The four-track EP In My Corner, which includes two original songs and tributes to Lucinda Williams and Yo La Tengo, was published in March 2020.
