Charlotte Cardin Information
Charlotte Cardin (November 9, 1994) is a Canadian jazz, pop, and electro singer and songwriter born in Montreal, Quebec. She released her first solo EP, Big Boy, on Cult Nation Records. Featured on the EP was rapper Nate Husser, whose song "Like It Doesn't Hurt" was recorded in both English and French. Both the title tune "Big Boy" and "Les échardes" were featured on CBC Radio 2 and charted on the Radio 2 Top 20; she was a finalist for the SOCAN Songwriting Prize in the French division.
She released a cover of Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black" in September 2021 through the Spotify Singles series and a French translation of her song "XOXO" the following month. At the 43rd annual Félix Awards, Phoenix took home the trophy for Best Album. In addition to Best Anglophone Concert, Cardin also won the Most Successful Artist Outside of Quebec prize.
Artist of the Year, Album of the Year (both for Phoenix and Pop Album of the Year), Single of the Year (both for "Meaningless") and Video of the Year (both for "Meaningless"), and Fan Choice Award were just some of the categories in which Cardin was recognized at the 2022 Juno Awards. As the lead single for her second studio album, 99 Nights, "Confetti" was released in April 2023. She stated the album's release date of August 25, 2023, back in June.
