Charlie Zaa Information
Carlos Alberto Sánchez (January 30, 1974) is a well-known Colombian singer named Charlie Zaa. He was born in Girardot, Colombia. Zaa was a member of the Colombian salsa orchestras "Grupo Niche" and "Guayacán," in which she sang. He made the bolero style his own when he first started as a solo performer. This professional choice was made in the mid-1990s. Since beginning his career as a solo artist, Charlie Zaa has released more than ten albums.
Over three million copies of his album Sentimientos, on which he performs some of his earlier popular songs, have been sold in Latin America and the United States. In 1998, he was named Artist of the Year by Billboard Latin Music for his albums Sentimientos and Un Segundo Sentimiento. To try and recreate the popularity of his debut album Sentimiento, Zaa returned to the Sonolux studios in Bogotá and re-worked some of the old romantic standards, boleros, and waltzes with the same producer, Milton Salcedo, for his fourth album.
In 2002, De Un Solo Sentimiento, Zaa's CD, was nominated for a Latin Grammy. De Bohemia, an album by Zaa, topped the Billboard Latin Albums chart in 2011. Charlie Zaa was influenced by the music of the famous Ecuadorian singer and songwriter Julio Jaramillo.
