Chairmen of the Board Information
Chairmen of the Board is an American-Canadian soul music group. The current lineup comprises Ken Knox, Thomas Hunter, and Patrick McGuire. The North Carolina Music Hall of Fame inducted General Johnson, Danny Woods, and Ken Knox—all of whom served as chairmen of the board—in 1999.
Even after Woods and Knox left the band, General Johnson remained the "Chairmen of the Board" until his 2010 death from lung cancer. "You" was a single that Chairmen of the Board released in 2012; Knox was both the songwriter and producer. A Blues Music Award nomination for "Acoustic Artist" was extended to former member Harrison Kennedy in 2013.
At the age of 75, Danny Woods passed away on January 12, 2018. His birth name was Daniel Woods, Jr., and he was born on March 27, 1942, in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2021, the Chairmen of the Board collaborated with producer Wheeler del Torro to update their sound with a contemporary twist. Remixes of Del Torro's latest hit, "Reach Out," were created by Severino Panzetta (Horse Meat Disco, Beating Cells) and Doug Gomez, among others.
