Carsie Blanton Information
Carson Amanda “Carsie” Blanton (July 22, 1985) is an American songwriter and singer in New Orleans, Louisiana. Blanton grew up on a cattle farm in Luray, Virginia, and began playing piano at the age of 6. At the age of 13, she also started writing songs and playing guitar. Blanton recorded and self-released her debut album entitled “Hush” in 2002. The first studio album by her was entitled “Ain’t So Green.”
Blanton relocated to Philadelphia, where she moved to pursue her musical career full-time. She was playing nearly 100 live shows a year by 2007. She also worked with manager Bill Eib (Mutlu Onaral and Amos Lee). Blanton performed live on Moutain Stage, which is a nationally syndicated program of NPR. She also opened shows for Shawn Colvin and The Weepies and toured with Anais Mitchell’s Hadestown in February 2011. In 2017, Blanton invented a card game called “The F’ing Truth” and sought funding on Kickstarter. Her associated acts are Devon Sproule, The Wood Brothers, and Mark Erelli.
Blanton has released several notable music videos throughout her career including Baby Can Dance (2010), Backseat (2012), Backbone (2013), Smoke Alarm (2013), Laziest Gal in Town (2014), Hot Night (2016), and Vim Vigor (2016). She has released all of her projects independently. Her studio albums include Hush (2002), Ain’t So Green (2005), Buoy (2009), Beau EP (2010), Idiot Heart (2012), Not Old, Now New (2014), So Ferocious (2016), and Buck Up (2019).
