Carl Cox Information
Carl Cox (July 29, 1962) is an English techno club DJ and record producer born in Oldham, England. Cox started as a mobile DJ when he was just 15 years old and quickly developed a love for disco. His music career began about the same time house music from Chicago rose to prominence. Cox rose to prominence as a DJ in the electronic music scene of the 1980s. Released on Paul Oakenfold's Perfecto label in the early '90s, "I Want You (Forever)" was his first hit.
Cox collaborated with Gavin Campbell to produce a new version of Yothu Yindi's "Treaty" and performed it live with the band at the Babylon Festival in Carapooee, Victoria, in February 2019. Through the official Goodwood website, he revealed that before Lloyds leaves in 2020, he will play a summer festival DJ set during the first of the Three Friday nights at Goodwood Racecourse.
The 2019 edition of Awakenings Festival was the label's debut at the Amsterdam Dance Event, while the 2022 edition was a daytime event in Ziggo Dome, Amsterdam. In July and August of 2022, the label resided at DC-10 Ibiza. Marc Romboy, Hannes Bieger, Robert Babicz, An On Bast, Saytek, and Honeysmack from Australia are just a few of the live and improvised musicians featured on the label in 2023.
