Caley Conway is an American singer and songwriter from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Her music is defined as Indie and Folk. Conway began playing guitar at 12, and, according to her, the family had guitars around the house, so she was taught on her mother’s nylon string. When Conway entered college, she began writing songs upon being lonely there. She spent her time listening to Paul Simon, Aimee Mann, and David Bowie. Later on, she dropped out and decided to pursue sustainable agriculture.
For many years, Conway’s songs were a secret until 2012, when she moved back to Milwaukee and started playing open mics at Linneman. At this point, Conway decided to take her music career seriously. “Surrounded Middle” is an EP that is said to be the most compelling music of her career. Conway usually writes about betrayals; people pushed to the brink, relationships, the burden of expectations, and similar heavy subjects.
Some of her impressive discographies include singles “Your Wedding Song,” “Middle Child Syndrome,” “Heart and Soul,” and “Silent Snow, Secret Snow.” “Middle Child Syndrome” is the song that portrays her insecurities.
