Bob Schneider (October 12, 1965) is a musician from Austin (Texas) and is a former lead-singer of Ugly Americans. He has released dozens of albums throughout his career. Bob Schneider released most albums on his own Shockorama Label.
At an early age, he learned piano and guitar himself. As his father was an opera singer, he started to perform at his parents’ parties. Before he formed his first solo performance, he used to perform in various bands. He developed his first solo act under the name of Lonelyland in 1999. Under Universal records, the act became the title of his record released. His live shows are well known due to his audience involvement and improvisation.
Bob Schneider went on to record his major-label solo albums entitled Lonelyland (2001), and I’m Good Now (2004). He signed contracts with Universal in 2001 and Vanguard in 2004. The contracts helped him to release his side-projects albums on his on Shockorama Records.
Bob’s live band consists of Conrad Choucroun (drums), Jeff Plankenhorn (guitars), Oliver Steck (accordion), Harmoni Kelley (bass), and Danny Levin (cello). He signed with Kirtland Records and released “Lovely Creatures” in September 2009. The release featured the single “40 Dogs (Like Romeo and Juliet)”. It peaked at no.14 on the AAA Radio Chart. Patty Griffin was featured by album on the track “Changing Your Mind.” His second album, “A Perfect Day” was released on April 19, 2011, with a single “Let The Light In.” On June 11, 2013, he released “Burden of Proof.”
From the year 1992-2017, Schneider has won around 55 Austin Music Awards so far for his multiple projects.
