She sought refuge with her buddy, a flamboyant costume designer who had been planning to dress a superstar in Paris before they left. Instead of staying in the dangerous neighborhood of Harlem, she plans on pursuing her goals there. Ma Rainey's Black Bottom director Phylicia Rashad oversees this stage production. (2020).
