Bluegrass Underground is a television show that is taped live at The Caverns. It was based in the Monteagle Mountain from the year 2008 to 2018. Bluegrass Underground became a nationally renowned show, even airing on PBS in the year 2011. The program became popular over time and started to air weekly on the AM radio station, WSM as well.
Season two of the show was awarded four Emmys (Mid-South) in the category of “Best Entertainment Program,” “Excellence in Lighting Design,” “Excellence in Audio,” and “Best Direct/Program.” Also, season two was nominated for the Best Photography/Program as well as Technical Achievement. Season one of the Bluegrass Underground also won the Emmy (Mid-South) for Lighting Design. In addition to that, they also received many nominations for the Emmys for the categories of Technical Achievement, Best Photography/Program, Excellence in Audio, and Best Arts Program.
The first season of Bluegrass Underground was also awarded the Cine Golden Eagle Award for professional non-fiction in the year 2012. Not only this, but the show also won the Telly Silver Award the same year.
