Blood, Sweat & Tears is a jazz-rock music band founded in 1967 and originated from New York. The group’s music is defined as pop-rock, R&B, jazz-rock, and psychedelic rock. The current lineup of the band includes Keith Paluso: vocals, Brad Mason: trumpet, Jonathan Powell: trumpet, Ken Gioffre: saxophone and flute, Mike Boscarino: trombone, Dylan Elise: drums, Ric Fierabracci: bass, vocals, Julian Coryell: guitar, vocals, and Glenn McLelland: keyboards. There is a long list of past members, which also includes eight original members.
Blood, Sweat & Tears was an inspiration taken from the “brass-rock” ideas of the Buckinghams along with its producer, James William Guercio. The band is well-known for its combination of brass and rock band instrumentation. The group members also know how to incorporate music from Thelonious Monk and Sergei Prokofiev into their musical arrangements. The group faced several iterations with varying personnel from its inception.
Blood, Sweat & Tears recorded songs by rock/folk songwriters James Taylor, the Band, Laura Nyro, Billie Holiday, the Rolling Stones, and Erik Satie. Child Is Father to the Man was the first album by the band released in 1968 under Columbia records and earned gold certification in the US. Some of their other hit certification holding studio albums are Blood, Sweat & Tears 1968, Blood, Sweat & Tears 3 1970, B, S & T 4 1971, and New Blood 1972.
Blood, Sweat & Tears also released three live albums entitled In Concert February 1976; Live And Improvised May 7, 1991; and Live February 1995. “Roller Coaster,” “Tell Me That I’m Wrong,” “Got to Get You into My Life,” and “Yesterday’s Music” are a few hit singles by the band.
