Blondie Information
Blondie is an American rock band that was founded by guitarist Chris Stein and singer Debbie Harry. The group originated from New York, New York. It usually deals in pop-rock, punk-rock, and new wave music genres. Blondie is stated to be the pioneer of the early American new wave and punk scenes. The current lineup of the band includes Debbie Harry, Chris Stein, Clem Burke, Leigh Foxx, Matt Katz-Bohen, and Tommy Kessler. Some of the former members of the band are Nigel Harrison, Frank Infante, Gary Valentine, and a few more.
The first commercial success that occurred for Blondie was in Australia in the year 1977. It was a mistake by the music television program Countdown that played the video of the band entitled "In the Flesh." Their first album was officially released in October 1977 by the name Blondie. "X-Offender" was the follow-up single by the group which was followed by "Rip Her to Shreds," Plastic Letters (1977), Parallel Lines (1978), Eat to the Beat (1979), Autoamerican (1980), The Hunter (1982), No Exit (1999), The Curse of Blondie (2003), Panic of Girls (2011), Ghosts of Download (2014), and Pollinator (2017).
Some of the successful past tours done by Blondie are Blast Off Tour of Europe, 40th-anniversary tour, co-headlining tour with Cyndi Lauper, Endangered Species Tour, and a few more. The group was disbanded after the release of its sixth studio album in the year 1982. The Blondie reformed in 1997.
A few of the mega awards earned by Blondie are; Juno Award for Best Selling Single 1980, Q Music Award for Q Inspiration Award 1998, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for Inductees 2006, NME Award for NME Godlike Genius Award 2014, Q Music Award for Q Inspiration Award 2016, along with many nominations.
