Blitzkid Information
Blitzkid is an American horror punk band that was founded in 1997 and originated from Bluefield, West Virginia. Goolsby and Monstrosity created the group though the current lineup consists of Argyle Goolsby – bass, vocals, TB Monstrosity – guitar, vocals, JV Bastard – guitar, backing vocals; and Andrew "Stripes" Winter – drums. There is also a long list of past members as well.
Blitzkid composed the title track to the 2006 film Cannibal Flesh Riot by children's author, artist, and filmmaker Gris Grimly. In the same year, the band played 260 live shows, and in 2007, they played the heavy metal-oriented Summer Breeze Open Air festival in front of 40,000 concert fans, which took place in Germany. Also, in Germany, the group took the main stage at the gothic rock-themed M'era Luna Festival. Blitzkid also appeared in the alternative rock Amphi Festival in Cologne and the Jason Trioxin tribute show in Teaneck NJ in June 2019.
The latest European tour by Blitzkid took place in 2012 and included 14 dates in Germany, three in the Czech Republic, seven in the UK, and two in Slovakia. The notable studio albums by the band are Terrifying Tales, Let Flowers Die, Trace of a Stranger, Five Cellars Below, Anatomy of Reanimation Vol 1, and Apparitional. 1997: Songs for the Aesthetically Challenged was a demo by the band that they re-released in 2012. Some of their EPs are 1999: Revisited, 2007: Split Personalities, 2010: Fistfull Of Balls Volume 1, and 2011: Head over Hills.
