Blackhawk Information
Blackhawk is a country music group founded in 1991 by Henry Paul, Van Stephenson, and Dave Robbins. The group’s current lineup includes Dale Oliver, Dave Robbins, Henry Paul, Michael Randall, Randy Threet, Monte Yoho, and Steve Grisham. Blackhawk signed a record deal with Arista Nashville in 1993, and that same year, the group released its debut single entitled “Goodbye Says It All.” This single peaked at number 11 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles and Tracks.
Blackhawk later released its self-titled debut album in 1994. The album was a two-time multi-platinum one, according to the RIAA. The band continued to chart several other singles throughout the 1990s. The group released its second album entitled “Strong Enough” in 1995, which included the hit single “I’m Not Strong Enough to Say No” which peaked at number 2 on the same chart. Another hit single was entitled “Like There Ain’t No Yesterday” that reached number 3. I’m Not Strong Enough to Say No received gold certification by RIAA after selling over 500,000 copies.
Blackhawk continued to release new projects, and in 1997, they again came up with a hit album entitled “Love & Gravity.” The album released two singles, “Postmarked Birmingham” and “Hole in My Heart.” The band’s other notable studio albums include The Sky’s the Limit (1998), Spirit Dancer (2002), Down from the Mountain (2011), Brothers of the Southland (2014), and The Spirit of Christmas (2019).
