Bitch Information
Bitch is an American heavy metal band that was founded in December 1980 and originated from Los Angeles. The music of the band is defined as glam metal, heavy metal, and hard rock. The current lineup of Bitch consists of Betsy Bitch (Betsy Weiss) – vocals, Chris Cardenas – guitars, Curt Remington – bass, and Randal "Scandal" West – drums. A long list of past members includes Ron Cordy, David Carruth, Kevyn Redwine, Steve Gaines, and Daniel Oliverio.
Bitch gained popularity as a result of its live theatrical performances inspired by Alice Cooper. The performances featured sadomasochistic themes. The band was the first ever to sign to Metal Blade Records. Bitch played its first show in 1981 along with Great White (formerly Dante Fox). During its initial years, the band contributed to Metal Massacre (1982), a career-launching album for Metallica.
In 1982, Bitch released a self-financed EP entitled Damnation Alley. It was followed by their full-length album named Be My Slave LP. Some of the other notable albums later released by the band are The Bitch Is Back – 1987 and Betsy – 1989. A Rose by Any Other Name was an extended play by Bitch that came out in 1989.
Bitch performed at a variety of festivals and events such as Bang Your Head!!! The Music Festival, Rainbow Bar and Grille's 42nd Anniversary Party, and Germany's Keep It True Festival.
