Best Coast is an American rock duo that was formed in 2009 in Los Angeles, California. The lineup consists of multi-instrumentalist and guitarist Bobb Bruno and vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter Bethany Cosentino. Best Coast was the efforts of both of these artists. Cosentino had been crazy for this music since her young age. She had been involved in commercials for Little Caesars, audition tapes, musicals, and talent competitions. She was just 15 when she began writing music, inspired by Blink-182, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, and Joan Baez.
Cosentino was working as a part-time associate for Lush, but she started to write music once again that was an immediate inspiration aroused in her. After writing the music, she informed Bruno about her passion, and both of them began to play demos inside his home studio. The first release from this duo was “Sun Was High (And So Was I).” This was the first release of a 7-inch singles’ string. The second release of this string called “When I’m with You” was financed by Black Iris.
Best Coast recorded their debut album called “Crazy for You” from January to April 2010 and eventually released it in July of the same year. 2010 and 2011 were the breakthrough years for the band. The albums brought them much popularity, and the duo started touring and appearing in different festivals. The duo released its second studio album on May 15, 2012, at Capitol Records Studio B in Los Angeles, California. Best Coast has been producing quality music since they are active. Their other hit albums include California Nights (2015), Best Kids (2018), and Always Tomorrow (2020),
