Belanova Information
Belanova is a pop band from Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, created in 2000. The band's lineup includes lead singer Denisse Guerrero, keyboardist Edgar Huerta, and bassist Ricardo "Richie" Arreola. While these three are the only ones officially recognized as part of the band, several additional musicians joined them onstage. In 2003, they released their debut album, Cocktail.
After Mitsubishi entered the Mexican market, the track "Tus Ojos" became a hit thanks to its placement in a promotional campaign. It was the album's first single. The song peaked among the Mexican Top 100 and remained there for three weeks in a row. The album was certified gold and peaked at No.5 on the Mexican Albums Chart. As a result, Rolling Stone Mexico included it in their top five albums of 2003.
The title of the album, Canciones para la luna, was announced in a September 2013 interview with El Universal. This CD reworks hits from previous albums and plays them with a symphony and special guests. In addition to the live performances, it incorporates two brand new songs: "Juegos De Amor" and "Sólo Dos."
