Beatrice Rana Information
Beatrice Rana (January 22, 1993) is an Italian pianist born in Copertino and began learning piano at the age of four. At the age of nine, Rana made her orchestral debut when she performed Bach's Piano Concerto in F minor. She studied at the Nino Rota Conservatory of Music in Monopoli along with Benedetto Lupo and, at the Hochschule für Musik in Hannover, Arie Vardi. Rana was the winner of the first prize and special jury prizes in the 2011 Montreal International Piano Competition. She also earned the silver medal at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition held in 2013.
Beatrice Rana is known as the only recording artist at Warner Classics. In 2018, the Classic Brit Awards nominated her in the category of the "Best Female Artist of the Year." This nomination was for her work recording of Bach's Goldberg Variations. Rana made her Carnegie Hall debut on March 12, 2019. She played Chopin's Twelve Etudes, Op. 25, to rave reviews. On June 7, 2019, she returned to play Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 3 along with the Philadelphia Orchestra. Again, on October 17, 2019, Rana returned to perform Bach's D minor and F minor keyboard concertos.
