Bastard Bearded Irishmen is an American band that is based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The band is considered one of the most energetic and entertaining live shows today. The current lineup of the band includes Jimmy Bastard (lead vocals, acoustic/electric, and banjo), Danny Rectenwald (mandolin, vocals, and banjo), Faul Dvarchak (Fiddle), Sean-Paul Williams (vocals and bass), Dan Stocker (percussion and drums), and Ryan Warmbrodt (Rhythm Guitar).
Bastard Bearded Irishmen has an original, traditional, and ferocious blend of contemporary Celtic music that is mixed with punk, high energy rock n’ roll, and gypsy. The band was intended to be a one-night-only tribute for a dear departed friend. Ben Jaber and Jimmy Bastard shared their passion for Irish music, whereas Dan Stocker showed his drum skills. They began performing in local pub gigs, but that soon turned into two records, consistently touring and sharing the stage with major artists including Gogol Bordello and Street Dogs. The group also received sponsorship from Jameson Irish Whiskey.
The show of the Bastard Bearded Irishmen is non-stop fun with dancing tunes, party anthem, and occasionally the whiskey-fueled ballad. The band has released a few notable albums, including Rise of the Bastard (2014), Drinkin’ to the Dead (2018), Rebastard (2015), Bastard Bearded Irishmen (2011), and Pirates of Three Rivers (2016).
