Bacon Brothers Information
The Bacon Brothers are an American music duet of brothers Michael and Kevin Bacon. They have been performing as a band since 1994, even though they started playing music together when they were young. After hearing their music, a childhood friend of the brothers suggested that they perform as The Bacon Brothers for a special one-night-only performance at Philadelphia's Theatre of Living Arts.
The Bacon Brothers are also featured on the children's CDs Dog Train and Philadelphia Chickens, produced by Sandra Boynton. On the latter, they do a vocal performance of the title tune. Their tune "Chop Wood (Carry Water)" is featured on the score of Kevin's 2004 feature film, The Woodsman.
The band's self-titled album, produced by G.E. Smith, a former Saturday Night Live musical director, was released on June 1, 2018. It was the band's sixth studio album. In addition to garnering exposure on SiriusXM's Tom Petty Radio, the album's lead single, "Tom Petty T-Shirt," peaked at No. 8 on iTunes and Spotify. The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon was the first nationwide broadcast of the song on April 26, 2018.
