Autograf Information
Jake Carpenter, Louis Kha, and Mikul Wing, who make up Autograf, combine their talents to create a shimmering blend of future electronic music with a DIY attitude. Carpenter, a sculptor and painter who worked as a welder in the fabrication industry, and Wing, a street artist, collaborated on an exhibition in which they displayed artwork that featured a homemade robot.
When the electronic music culture reached its zenith in 2015, the band decided to inject sex into it. They started by covering songs by musicians like Lorde and Pharrell. Still, with the release of their first original song, "Dream," they proved themselves as serious contenders in the electronic music scene. About a month later, they released "Running," an electronic disco song that was equally as glitzy and had original artwork. Another Autograf-designed cover, this time for the third track in as many months, "Metaphysical," also featured the smooth vocals of alt-R&B crooner Janelle Kroll.
With an eye on the future and a desire to transform the electronic music landscape, Autograf built its instruments and stage installations. The trio dropped their first EP, Future Soup, in early 2016. By the end of 2016, they had released a few remixes; by the beginning of 2017, Autograf had released two new singles. It started with "Nobody Knows," which featured WYNNE, and was quickly followed by "You Might Be," which starred Lils.
