Andrew Tyler Griggs (born August 13, 1973) is a country music singer from the United States. Griggs was born in the Louisiana town of West Monroe. Andy Griggs was a River Oaks High School student. In the early 1990s, he returned to his hometown and became a youth preacher after briefly attending Northeast Louisiana University. However, he continued to hone his musical abilities, and in 1999, he got a deal with RCA Records Nashville. You Won’t Ever Be Lonely, Griggs’ debut album, was released in 1999 by RCA Records Nashville. The album was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and spawned five hits on the Billboard country singles charts.
In 2002, Griggs released his second album, Freedom. Although the first song, “How Cool Is That,” reached number 22, the second single, “Tonight I Wanna Be Your Man,” reached number 7 and became his fourth Top Ten success. “Practice Life,” a number 33 duet with Martina McBride, was the album’s final track. Griggs was missing from the country charts for the first half of 2004. However, Montgomery Gentry and Blake Shelton contributed uncredited guest vocals to Tracy Byrd’s 2003 song “The Truth About Men.”
Griggs got his second recording contract, with Montage Music Group, in 2007. “Tattoo Rose” (co-written by Cole Deggs, lead vocalist of Cole Deggs & the Lonesome) and “What If It’s Me” were both low-charting singles from his debut album for the label, The Good Life. He released “Can I Get an Amen?” three years later. “20 Little Angels,” “Don’t Let Go,” “Can I Get an Amen,” “Cuthroat, Montana,” “What If It’s Me,” and others are among his noteworthy hits.
