Alix Perez Information
Alix Perez began DJing at age 14 and producing at age 17. He has worked with Jenna G, Redeyes, Sabre, and Specific and cites Calibre, Marcus Intalex, Ill logic & DJ Raf, Artificial Intelligence, and D Bridge as influences.
Coda represented him, and he performed regularly in London and across Europe until leaving for New Zealand in the fall of 2020. He is a DJ with an "eclectic" style, in his own words. Although I mostly play deep, I do dabble in other styles of drum & bass. I enjoy gauging the audience and allowing the music room to develop. Choosing the appropriate musical keys is crucial. My perspective is that of a traveler.
Perez's music has been featured on popular radio programs like BBC 1Xtra, and he has also done numerous radio and podcast mixes. DJs and producers Bailey, Fabio, and Bryan Gee all support him. Fabio proclaimed "Forsaken" by Perez as 2010's best drum and bass music on one of his BBC programs.
As one of the "Leaders of the Nu Skool" in the drum and bass scene, Perez has been featured in publications, including on the cover of ATM Magazine. Knowledge Magazine and One Week To Live, a London-based dance music magazine, has featured him, and DJ, Mixmag, Knowledge, and ATM have all reviewed his albums regularly.
Shogun Audio, a label specializing in drum and bass, published Perez's first album, 1984, in 2009. The album includes guest appearances by Lynx, Truth, Yungun, Spectrasoul, and Foreign Beggars.
