Alex Guthrie is an American guitarist and musician from Atlanta, GA. He learned to play guitar when he was only 12 years old. Later on, he joined the school chorus and a garage band. At the age of 16, Guthrie began playing gigs and chose not to attend college to pursue a career in music. When he analyzed that playing music was not paying the bills, Guthrie began to explore his interest in reptiles and started to breed snakes.
This venture was fruitful for Guthrie, and he was able to spend a year doing a 44-state tour playing music all around the country. After he returned home, Guthrie got selected as a singer in a commercial for American Family Insurance in which Jennifer Hudson sang with him. Hudson also encouraged Guthrie to take his talents to "The Voice" to audition.
Now Alex Guthrie, along with his band, plays major events and occasions. Guthrie has the ability to blend soulful vocals along with story-rich lyrics, and the organic synergy of the popular 70's southern blues bands.
