Alex Burger Information
Alex Burger is an American screenwriter and playwright. Burger is a native of the Massachusetts town of Wenham. There were almost 1,200 performances of Le Grand David and his Own Spectacular Magic Company, in which he and his family participated as a child. Burger earned a magna cum laude in Comparative Study of Religion from both Deep Springs College in California and Harvard University. He went to INSEAD, which has campuses in Singapore and France, to get his master's degree in business administration.
In 1997, Burger began publishing poetry and was honored with an award from the Alabama State Poetry Society. Later, he turned to playwriting. In 2010, his play Ain't Nothin' Changed won the Harvardwood writing competition after having its world premiere in San Francisco as part of the Playground Theatre Festival. Whose Blood, a drama by him, is titled "A Tale of Desire and Despair." Plays at London's Old Operating Theatre, set in a 19th-century operating theater, sold out their whole 2012 runs.
In addition to a piece in the book Challenging History in the Museum, the play was featured in the Wellcome Trust Magazine. Mashoga (My Wife) (Glasgow Any Objections Festival 2013), The Inkanyamba (Market Theatre Lab 2015), and Fees Must Fall (The Public Theater, 2016) are some of his other pieces (Wits University, 2016). Among Burger's many television credits is his role as showrunner for seasons three and four of the SAFTA-winning series Umlilo.
