Albert Cummings is an American blues musician from Williamstown, Massachusetts, known for playing alongside Johnny Winter, B.B. King, and Buddy Guy. Cummings began playing the five-string banjo when he was only 12 years old, and his father's guitar was too big for his hands. Soon he started to learn basic chords and progressions and developed an interest in bluegrass music. He delivered his first public guitar performance in 1997 at his friends' wedding reception.
Albert Cummings formed a band, Swamp Yankee, in his late 20's. Soon he released an independently produced album entitled The Long Way in 1999. During his early career, Cummings was on the Northeast blues circuit with his band. His first independently produced album became an opportunity for him to work with Double Trouble in the late Stevie Ray Vaughan rhythm section.
From the Heart was the 2003 self-released by Cummings, which was recorded in Austin, Texas. He was then signed to Blind Pig Records and released many notable studio albums such as True To Yourself 2004, Working Man 2006, Feel So Good 2008, No Regrets 2012, Someone Like You 2015, and Believe 2020. No Regrets debuted at number 1 in the U.S., France, and Canada on the iTunes Blues Charts and number 5 on the Billboard Blues Charts.
