Aespa is a famous South Korean girl group that SM Entertainment founded. Karina, Giselle, Winter, and Ningning are the group's four members. The name Aespa is a combination of the English letters for "avatar" and "experience" (Avatar X Experience) and the English word "aspect," which means "two sides." It represents "meeting another self and experiencing the new world."
Aespa is one of the most well-known South Korean female groups, domestically and abroad, having popularized the idea of the metaverse and hyperpop music in K-pop. Aespa debuted with the "Black Mamba" track on November 17, 2020. The music video for the song received the most views for a K-pop group's debut video within 24 hours. It earned 21.4 million views.
Since then, the group has continued to release top hits like "Forever," "Dreams Come True," "Life's Too Short" (English Version), "Welcome to My World," and a few more. Aespa has released three full-length EPs entitled Savage (2021), Girls (2022), and My World (2023). The group also appeared in Synk Road in 2022 and Better Things in 2023.
Aepsa recently performed a headlining tour called Synk: Hyper Line (2023). The girls also participated in some famous concerts, including SM Town Live 2022: SMCU Express at Kwangya (2022), SM Town Live 2022: SMCU Express (2022), and SM Town Live 2023: SMCU Palace at Kwangya (2023).
