Daniel Anthony Noriega (September 29, 1989) is an American television personality, drag queen, singer, and songwriter. He is better known by his stage name, Adore Delano. Noriega competed on the seventh season of American Idol, airing in 2008, and advanced to the semi-finals. They went viral for a remark directed at Judge Simon Cowell that showcased their flamboyant personality and sassy rapport with the panel.
Rosie O'Donnell saw Noriega perform on Idol and asked him to sing on her R Family Vacations cruise. Delano was inspired to join and win a drag competition at West Hollywood's Micky's after seeing a contestant from RuPaul's Drag Race, Raven, perform there. After his victory, Noriega began singing under the stage name Adore Delano in Southern California. Adore and other RuPaul's Drag Race contestants strutted their stuff on the Marco Marco catwalk at Los Angeles Fashion Week in 2013.
Logo confirmed in December 2013 that Adore Delano would be one of 14 drag queens participating in the sixth season of RuPaul's Drag Race. Delano had participated before in the season 5 fan vote but lost to Penny Tration. Ultimately, Delano was among the top three competitors after winning three tasks. Delano, along with Courtney Act, was the runner-up to the season's champion Bianca Del Rio.
