Adam Capps was exposed to various musical styles as a child, from Queen to Alan Jackson. He picked up an old red Danelectro guitar in his early teens and began to play it. His first few songs were created not long after that, and music became an important part of his life. He started performing in smaller venues and parties in Wichita, Kansas, during his last two years of college and established a cult following in his hometown.
Adam didn't begin thinking about a music career until he was 24 years old. "I Call It Home" was Adam's first hit off his self-titled EP, released in late 2014, and it has remained the band's most popular song ever since. Bands including Billy Currington, The Band Perry, Big & Rich, Maren Morris, and Granger Smith have performed alongside the group. They've also performed at Kicker Country Stampede in the summer of 2015 and 2016 and side stage at CMA Fest in Nashville. "Play it Proud," the Adam Capps Band's debut album, which included ten of Adam's original compositions, was released in late July 2016.
